Bathroom
This renovation turned a dark, cramped 1950’s ranch house bathroom into a bright and airy sanctuary. We removed a drop sheetrock ceiling and extended the room three feet to the exterior, from its original 8x8’ footprint. The added space allows for a two sink vanity, a spacious shower, and a deep soaking tub, where we designed and crafted a concrete countertop and tub deck. Custom windows and a skylight replace the existing small single window high on the west wall.
The palette is distinctively California: reclaimed and salvaged old growth redwood and fir are paired with Heath Ceramics floor and wall tile. The vaulted wood ceiling adds space and warmth, while the concrete countertop with integrated sinks is solid, seamless, and complements the feel of wood and handmade tile. Hidden LED lights illuminate the wood ceiling and Allied Maker blackened brass vanity lights provide ambiance and functional light.
